Obituary of Michael Mercier
Michael D. Mercier of Deltona, Florida passed suddenly on July 3, 2018. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on June 9, 1949. He was proceeded in death by wife, Linda A. Mercier (March 3, 2014), mother Shirley Mercier (November 12, 2013), and sister Marie A. Roy (October 13, 2016). He is survived by his daughters; Teresa L. Carter (Greg) of Deltona, Florida, Michele Mercier Haile of Nevada, Missouri, and Melanie Elliff of Carthage, Missouri, granddaughter Hailey L. Carter, and grandsons; Steven “Gage” Ensley, Lake A. Rhodes, Hunter L. Carter, Presley T. Easton, and Trip M. Mercier.
He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps and after 20 years of service, he retired in October 1988. After retiring from the Marine Corps, he went to work for the Seminole County School Board. Michael was a faithful employee for 27 years until he retired in 2016.
Mike was a fun, loving, caring, generous husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will forever be in our hearts.
Services will be held at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand, Florida on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm and funeral service beginning at 2:00pm.
