Obituary of Frank B. Arostegui
Frank Bill Arostegui, 73, passed away on the 22nd of May 2018. In celebration of his life, a viewing will be held on Thursday, May 31, at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand, Florida, from 5pm to 7pm with a funeral service to follow beginning at 7pm. He will be buried with honors on Friday, June 1, 2018 in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
Frank was born on August 11, 1944, in Havana, Cuba. He was the eldest of five children born to Alfred & Marilyn Arostegui. At a young age, he & his family moved to Miami, Florida. It is there that he later met his wife, Martha, and started a family of his own. Frank & Martha married on July 31, 1969. They were married 48 years.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the Army’s First Cavalry Division. He was a Sergeant for the City of Miami Police Department, the Proprietor of “The Cavern” (a beloved pub located in DeLand, FL), and a United States Postal Service employee. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Frank will be remembered for his kind & comforting nature, his relentless sense of humor, & his ability to bring joy to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Martha Arostegui, 3 daughters, Lisa Stonesifer, Marlene Stone, & Kathleen Marquis, as well as 3 brothers, 1 sister, 5 grandchildren, & 6 great grandchildren.
