Obituary of Allen Riddle

Allen L Riddle of Moultrie, Ga passed away on November 11th,2017 in Deland , Fl.

He is a Beloved Husband, Father, Grand Father and Friend. He has 3 Children & 5 Grandchildren.

He was the Son of Willie & Mary Riddle of Georgia. His Sister’s were Barbara Frazier, Irma Disler,Marie Bailey, Edna Riddle & Mary Griffin. His Brother’s were James Musslewhite, Alfred Riddle, Cecil Riddle & Buddy Riddle.

Allen lead a very Colorful Life. At age 6 he would “Dance” on street corners for money. He would also sell Peanuts, pick Cotton & Shine Shoes for his family's income.

In 1954, he started his long career at Smyth Lumber Co in Orlando, where he drove a truck & unloaded box cars of materials. His choice to work there continued on for over 50 Years for The Smyths, as their Lead Salesman. He “Lived & Breathed” the Lumber Industry. He has been named “Salesman of the Year” by the FLMBA and won numerous other awards for Salesman of the Month. He continued to sell lumber after the sale of Smyth Lumber, for another Family Owned & Operated Lumber Co, Manning Building Supplies.

His career spanned for over 62 years in this industry. Un-Heard of today. He Adored his wife, Linda L. Riddle, of 49 Years and enjoyed fishing, boating and dancing together. She “IS” the Love of his Life and he “IS” hers!!!

He loved Boating, Fishing, Billiards & Golf. He also had an article in Golf Digest about him being “The Most Improved Golfer in Orlando”. He was Rosemont Country Club Champ for several years as well.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held in his Honor on December 9th in Deland , Fl. @ Pit Masters BBQ on US-17. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made in his honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital .
