Pat and Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences. I count myself extremely privileged to have been able to not only work for John, but to call him a friend. John was also a valuable mentor to me as an aviation professional.
I really enjoyed our time on the golf course . His love for the game (as frustrating as it can be sometimes) never wavered :). I think I got to fly with John on his last flight (that i am aware of at least). It was a trip from our Broward campus back to Sanford. We shot an approach and landed on 9R at SFB. His landing was fantastic, one of those landing where you have to look at your landing gear to be sure you were in fact on the ground. John was very pleased. It was nice to see someone with so much flying experience still get excited about a great landing. John personified professional aviation.
I apologize for not being able to attend the Life Celebration but John's friendship and mentorship will be with me always.
Dear family. Death is an enemy! So says the Word of God. True comfort comes in knowing that God does not cause our death, for He promises to eliminate death completely in the near future. I hope this gives you a measure of comfort during this difficult times. (1 Corinthians 15:26; Isaiah 25:8).
