Obituary of Carol Jean Wassell
On July 7, 2020, a kind and generous soul passed from this life to the next. At the age of 81, Carol Jean Wassell went to be with our Lord. She is the last of the seven children of Oscar and Sallie Perham to make the journey. She will be reuniting with her husband of 48 years: Don, who has been patiently waiting her arrival.
She is survived by her two children: Walter Wassell (Lori) and daughter, Pam McClanahan, two grandchildren: Frances Shantz (Seth) and Danielle Wassell, and two great grandchildren. She will be missed by all as her devotion towards them is reflected in who they are and the accomplishments amongst them. With a warm and generous heart, a welcoming smile, a joyful spirit, a quick wit and hearty laugh, (even a stern tone at times) she exhibited all in a loving manner. Each of our lives has been blessed, and bettered by her kindness, quick wit, and devoted attention.
She was a dedicated and accomplished civil servant, serving our great nation in times of both peace and war until her retirement. She excelled across a broad spectrum of responsibilities, routinely interacting with and for all levels of the government. She has been a dedicated philanthropist at the local, state, and federal level for decades and I have no doubt she will be missed in those respective circles.
She was a living testament of Philippians 4:13 – she could do all things, strengthened by Christ daily throughout her life.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Carol Wassell, please visit Tribute Store
