Obituary of Ella MacKenzie

Ella B. (Tootsie) MacKenzie
August 16, 1942 - April 7, 2020
Ella B. (Tootsie) MacKenzie, age 77, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Robert C. (Mac or Bob) MacKenzie for 59 wonderful years.
Born in Boston, Mass., where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Girls Trade High School in 1960, where she won the Betty Crocker award. She immediately went to work at London Clothing Factory as a sample maker. She then married the love of her life (Mac) on April 29,1961 and moved to Brockton Mass where they had three loving daughters. She went on vacation with her husband to Daytona Beach and loved it so much, they decided to move to Florida in 1972, where she continued to work, and raise her children with her loving husband.
She loved traveling and going to the beach on weekends with her husband and girls. Her travels included vacations to England, Hawaii, St. Croix, Niagara Falls, The Grand Canyon, and many cruises. She enjoyed attending sporting events such as multiple Daytona 500’s, numerous football games, along with other sporting events with her husband, girls, and grandchildren. She also enjoyed roller skating, and many hobbies and crafts. Her favorite hobby was quilting. She spent lots of her time teaching her girls to sew, knit, crochet, macramé, oil paint, and ceramics (just to mention a few).
She is survived by a husband, Robert C. MacKenzie of Orange City; 3 daughters, Pamela Peerless and her husband Mike of Ormond Beach, Donna Davidson of Palm Coast, and Michelle Chartrand and her husband George of Orange City; 5 siblings, Annette Langley, Al Lyons, Judy Brophy, Bruce Lyons, Heidi Depasqua; 5 grandchildren, Jacqueline McWhirter, Brittany Zoller, Lee Vickers, Michelle Peerless, and Christine Rowe; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Albert and Dorothy Lyons; and brothers Joseph Lyons, and Frank Lyons.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 6 at 11:00 am in the Lankford Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends begining at 10:00 AM.
