Obituary of Kenny Wiles

DWIGHT (KENNY) WILES, retired Sgt. with Florida Highway Patrol, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on January 7, 2020. Born in Winston-Salem, NC in 1949, Kenny served in the U.S. Navy (Vietnam) prior to beginning his career with Florida Highway Patrol. He began his career with Florida Highway Patrol in 1973 in Volusia County, where he served his entire career before his retirement in 2014. He remained as a Reserve Trooper until his death. Kenny was very proud of his Navy service and his service with the Florida Highway Patrol. Kenny was preceded in death by his Father, Donald Kenneth Wiles; Mother, Hazel Lee (Mabe) Wiles, and his brother, Donald Wayne Wiles. He is survived by his wife, Diane Wiles; daughters Kimberly Ward (Ken) of Ocala; Ashley Wiles of Edgewater; and Lindsay Bryan (Dan) of Edgewater; Brother Jeffrey Wiles (Sabrina) ; Sister Gail Wiles; Granddaughters Tayler Coller (Todd) and Sadie Bryan; Grandsons Trevor Ward; Tyler Ward; and Sawyer Bryan; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Kenny was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football team and enjoyed whitewater rafting, shooting, and taking numerous cruises with his wife. Visitation/Viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at First Baptist Church DeLand, 725 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand, Florida from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by the Funeral Services at 1pm. Internment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand. In lieu of flowers, donations to New Hope Animal Shelter, 800 Humane Society Road, DeLand, Florida 32720 would be appreciated. ROLL TIDE ROLL
