Obituary of Jenny Tessensohn
Jenny Tessensohn, age 89, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 26, 2019 with family at her side.
Jenny was born June 20, 1930 in Surabaya, Indonesia. She moved to The Netherlands in 1955 then to the United States in 1961. While she was a child in Indonesia, Jenny survived interment camp during World War II alongside her parents and siblings.
Jenny is preceded in death by her husband- Jerry Tessensohn, sisters- Constance, Elizabeth, Antionette and Sylvia, brother- Rudolf and great-granddaughter Gabriella Paige Camacho.
Jenny was a loving mother and is survived by her eight children- Julian Tessensohn (Maria), James Tessensohn, Jeff Tessensohn, Joan Mills (Ronnie), Jerry Tessensohn (Susan), Jennifer Cates (Michael), Jody Pryor (Norman) and Jacqueline Michelle Campbell (Christopher), brothers- Willy and Arnold and many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jenny was a beloved Oma to 20 grandchildren and Omie to 22 great-grandchildren.
Jenny was the matriarch of her family, the heartbeat of it. She had a heart of gold. She loved, fed and accepted everyone just as they were. She enjoyed cooking (especially Indonesian food), gardening, tending to her orchids, sewing, knitting, cruising, playing poker and watching Tampa Bay Rays baseball. But most of all, Jenny LOVED her family. She would often be heard saying that her greatest wish was to have "a house like on Dallas" so everyone she loved could be together all the time. She lived for her family and they lived for her.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
