Obituary of Darla Kay Borders
Darla Kay Borders, 78, of Deltona, Florida, passed away on September 16, 2019. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her family will forever hold dear her memory; and passion for life, love, and family.
Darla was born in Washington, D.C. on June 11, 1941. She moved to Indiana as a young girl where she resided for years and raised her family. Eventually, she relocated to Florida to enjoy the beach life. Darla and her high school sweetheart, Steve, reconnected later in life and have been happily married since 2013.
Darla enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, and friends; loving her adopted cat; listening to the ocean while sitting on the beach; watching NASCAR racing; and cheering for UCF football.
She worked in administrative support positions at the Volusia County Fair Association from 2000-2019.
Darla is survived by her husband, Steve Borders of Deltona, FL; three children: daughter Bren Bedford of Orlando, FL, daughter Deb (Randy) Charlick of Stanwood, WA, and son, Greg Bedford of Ormond Beach, FL; step-children: Brian (Kim) Borders, Chris (Dawn) Borders, Andy (Tiffany) Borders, Deah (Denny) Daughters, Ian (Alex) Borders, Miley Funk; grandchildren: Ryan, Brittany, Nicholas, Erin, Lauren; and great-grandchildren: Jack, George, Warren. Also surviving: kitty, Chloe; and many adored granddogs and grandkitties.
Darla is preceded in death by her cherished parents, Charles Elmer Sylvester and Mary Elizabeth (Sare) Sylvester.
