Virginia E. “Ginny” Fiumano Obituary

 

Virginia E. “Ginny” Fiumano was called home to our Lord on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 at 82 where she was residing at the Alliance Community in Deland, Florida, after battling a long-term illness of dementia.

Born in Pensacola, Florida on December 20th, 1936, to Foust and Lillie Straughn, Ginny, to all who knew her, was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who met and loved her. Her smile could light up the night. Ginny was a strong-willed soul and concurred many battles. In her lifetime, Ms. Fiumano had raised six loving children, Daniel R. Fiumano, Alfred F. Fiumano III (deceased), Alesandra F. Fiumano-Griffis, Andrew F. Fiumano (deceased), Dante R. Fiumano, Dionysius R. Fiumano. Ginny was very dedicated to her children in all aspects of their lives. She was a devoted grandmother of 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A Catholic mass will be held at St. Peters Catholic church in Deland, Florida on Tuesday April 9th, 2019 at 1:00pm, followed by a ceremony at Oakdale Cemetery in Deland, Florida.
