Obituary of Betty Sue Rogers
Betty Sue (Nanny) Rogers, 86, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018.
Born in Trion, GA she moved to Florida in 1958 and retired from General Electric in Daytona Beach where she manufactured parts for the space program. She was loved by all and touched every person she met. Betty was an amazing woman and never met a stranger. Being around her family is what she enjoyed most in life.
Betty loved to dance, travel, watch Hallmark movies, broadway shows and read. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The love she had for her family was like no other. She was known for her sense of humor and kind & generous heart.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James A. (Jimmy) Rogers who passed away in 1999, her sister , Ann Bennett, and brothers, Charles Hayes and Billy Hayes.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers ,David (Lida) Hayes of Winston Salem, NC, Donnie Hayes of Calhoun, GA, Jerry (Kay) Hayes of Hilton Head, SC, Ronnie (Susan) Hayes of Calhoun, GA. her daughters, Marsha Rogers, Daytona Beach, FL, Lisa (George) Lane, Orange City, FL and son, Tim (Stephanie Tew Lee) Rogers. Also surviving Nanny are her six grandchildren , Ashley (Tudor Mcintyre) Rogers of Orlando, FL, Brian (Amanda) Rogers, Coupeville, WA, George (Ashley) Lane, of Seville, FL, Lacee (Jason) Beasley of Orange City, FL, Mariah Kinman of Columbus, IN and Lauren (Jeff) Towry of Hampton, VA. and eight great-grandchildren , Braelyn and Shelby Beasley, Taylor and Colton Lane, Jordyn Rogers, Chris & Ashleigh Battaglia, Jake Mcintyre and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand with a graveside service on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at 10:00AM at Hollywood Cemetery in Orange City, Florida.
