Obituary of Edward Earl Baker
Edward E. Baker, 76, passed away on October 29, 2018 at his home in Deland, FL with his family by his side. The funeral service will be held this Saturday, 11/03, at Lankford Funeral Home in Deland at 2:00pm.
Edward was born on May 9, 1942 in Hackensack, NJ to Roland Baker and Angelina DeVito. He served three years in the US Army and graduated from Jersey State College. He taught vocational auto shop in NJ for 11 years & was a volunteer firefighter. He then moved to Florida with his family in 1983, worked in the auto sales field and then retired from Volusia County Corrections. He was dedicated to working out and staying healthy which led him to receive his personal trainer certification. He worked out at the YMCA in Deland and loved helping others meet their fitness goals. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge and AmVets. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Barbara Baker, and his children: William (Allison) Baker of Ponce Inlet, Edward (Caryn) Baker of Ormond Beach, Lynea (Brad) Lewis of Ormond Beach, Jenine (Lonnie) Wamsher of Palmyra, PA and Courtney (JJ) Nahoun of Deland, along with 10 grandchildren: Rachael Baker, Taylar Baker, Katie Baker, Reid Baker, Johnny Baker, Samantha Baker, Gaige Nahoun, Levi Nahoun, Brue Lewis and Rosetta Wamsher, and 1 great-grandchild: Ruby King-Baker. He loved his family more than anything and spending time with them. As his wife always said, he never met a stranger. He was such a fun, goofy, amazing man who was loved by many and he will be missed tremendously. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Halifax Health Hospice. "Send it in!!"
