Obituary of William Nolan Tomlinson
William Nolan Tomlinson “Billy” passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday August 14, 2018 he was 79. Born on April 24, 1939 in Live Oak, Florida to Burton and Iris Tomlinson.
Billy was the former owner of Sonny’s BBQ on South Woodland in Deland from 1987 until 2007. He then owned Dustin’s BBQ in Deland. The restaurant was his life and he loved his customers. His employees were like family to him.
He was an avid fisherman who loved being on the water in his boat. He loved going frogging on his airboat in the Everglades. He cherished and loved his family so much. He was always helping anyone in need.
Survivors, mother of his daughters, Carolyn Tomlinson, daughters, Cheryl Stinson, Jeanne Davis, Julie Carner (Tim), granddaughter Kim Carner (Eric), grandsons, Steve and Jeff Stinson, Jason Davis, Joey Davis (Jessica), Keith Davis, Scott Carner. Great Grandchildren, Alyssa Carner, Camron Carner, Layla Carner, Skylar Stinson, Caleb Carner, Hannah Davis, brothers, Winston Tomlinson, Robert Tomlinson, Wayne Tomlinson (Linda), son-in-law, Kenny Davis, his loving fur baby Brutus, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Sidney & Doug Tomlinson and sister Regina Tomlinson.
Funeral services will be held at Lankford Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, August 19, 2018. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 and services will begin at 4:00 p.m.
