Obituary of Cecelia Turek

Cecelia Lucille Turek (née Zarkowski)

1925-2018

Cecelia Turek joined her family of saints on July 21, 2018.  She was born in Detroit, the last of five children.  On the last day of high school, she went to the GM Fleetwood Plant to practice filling out a job application.  She was hired on the spot and over the next nine years worked her way up to Executive Secretary.  At age 25, she married the love of her life, Joseph Turek.  Together they raised a family, travelled to Poland, and entertained family and friends at their home with the best Polish meals in town!

Cele was an accomplished seamstress, the family historian, enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and loved to tell stories about her Faith, her Family and her Community.     In 2013, Cecelia moved to DeLand, Florida to be closer to her daughter’s family.  A woman of great faith, she was active at St. Peter   Catholic Church of DeLand and in Michigan at St. Robert Bellarmine’s.  Cecelia is survived by her children, Terry Working (Carl), Mary Farrell (Tom) and Thomas Turek (Carmel) and grandchildren, Michael Farrell (Kendall Butters), Jeremy Farrell (Holly Wheeler), Cara Working (Jordon Jones) and Amy Working.  She also had many nieces, nephews in her life.  Cecelia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and Busia.   A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Peter of DeLand at 10 A.M.  No flowers, please.  If you wish to remember Cecelia, please donate to your favorite charity in her honor.

Our mother's last words to our family were "See you in heaven."
