Yvonne Mary Fradet

Yvonne Mary Rocheleau Fradet left us on December 3, 2020 after a long illness.


Yvonne was born on March 30, 1931 in Swanton, Vermont, the fifth of six children, to Aldege and Emilia (Moreau) Rocheleau. She graduated from St. Anne’s Academy, Swanton, VT. in 1949 and from nurse’s training at the DeGoesbriand Hospital, Burlington, VT. in 1949 as a Registered Nurse.


She married Victor Hugh Fradet on April 6, 1953. She worked as a nurse in Burlington, VT., Montreal, Quebec, Bridgeport, CT., Glens Falls, NY., and DeLand, FL.


The family moved to DeLand in the Spring of 1968 after purchasing a motel, renamed Fradet’s Garden Motor Court. She and Vic also opened Chip’s Mopeds, in DeLand, in the mid-1970’s. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.


She is survived by her two sons, Jay Fradet and Victor (Chip) Fradet and his wife Shelly and their children, Emily Fradet and Andrew Fradet, and by her sister, Edna Casey (Mark), sister-in-law, Marie Rocheleau, and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic in 1997, by her siblings, Roland, Irene and her husband Kenneth Casey, Andre and his wife Stella Rocheleau and Janet and her husband Thomas Forsyth III.
