Clemaline ( Snookie ) Wood

 

It is with great sadness that the family of Snookie Wood announces her passing after a brief illness, on Saturday April 20, 2019 at the age of 87.Snookie was preceeded in death by her husband of 33 years Wade Wood Jr., her daughter Michelle Wood Hardwick and granddaughter Sheri Anne Reader. Snookie will be lovingly remembered by her children Suzanne ( William ) Reader, Bubba ( Kim ) Wood and Jason ( Virginia ) Wood. Snookie will also be remembered by her 10 grandchildren Billy ( Angela ), Ashley, Christopher, Stacy ( Jon ), Jennifer ( Kirsten ), Charlie ( Svetlana), Anthony, Mary, Ashley, Matthew and 7 great grandchildren Maddie, Sam, Gracie, Allie, Kyle, Jacob, and Alina.

 

Snookie was born Clemaline Bennett in Salisbury Maryland on March 16, 1932 to Clement and Aline Bennett. Her father started calling her Snookie when she was a young toddler and the name stuck with her through life. Snookie moved to Florida as a young girl living in Panama City and DeLand. In 1973 Snookie and her family moved permanently to DeLand. She opened Outhouse Antiques north of DeLand and ran it successfully for 38 years before she retired. Her favorite hobbies were # 1 her family and # 2 yard selling and looking for the best deal of the day. Outhouse Antiques became a social spot, with many of her friends stopping by daily to say hello.

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Baptist Church of DeLand in the Chapel on Saturday May 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm. 725 N Woodland Blvd.
