William A. Wheeler, age 66, of DeLand, Florida, passed away on December 5, 2024. He was born on November 29, 1958, in Port Hueneme, California, to Curtis Wheeler and Norma Brown.
A retired truck driver, William found joy in the simple but profound pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, a passionate golfer, and a dedicated gardener. He had a knack for building and creating things around the house, always keeping his hands busy with his latest project. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, building memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
William is survived by his devoted wife, Letha Wheeler; his son, Jason Wheeler; and his daughter, Vanessa Askins. He also leaves behind his beloved step-daughters, Shawnna Ward (Jordan) and Kayla Caixeta (Luca) and step-son Justin Manchette. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Harper Ward, Grayson Ward, Jordan Rose Ward, and Hazel Caixeta. He is further survived by his brothers, Keith Wheeler, Stephen Howe, and Joey Howe; and his sisters, Joann Roberts, Dolores Houston, and Tracy Clay.
He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Wheeler; his mother, Norma Brown; and his sister, Lynn Henderson.
A celebration of William’s life will be scheduled at a later date, allowing family and friends an opportunity to gather, share stories, and honor his memory.
William’s life was marked by love, hard work, and a steadfast devotion to family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
