William (Bill) Clinton Shelton Jr., 77, of DeLand, FL, passed away on February 22, 2021.

Bill was born on August 19, 1943, to William Clinton Shelton Sr. and Ida LaNell Shelton in Kingsport, TN. After graduating from Oak Ridge High School in 1961, he went on to study at Tennessee Tech.

In 1972, Bill was drafted into the United States Army. After his service in the Army, he continued his career working for BellSouth as an installer/repairman for 30 years.

In 1965, he met Ann and they were married later that year. They enjoyed collecting and refinishing antique furniture and working together in their garden. They were married for over 55 years and were truly best friends.

After retiring in 1997, Bill spent the rest of his life devoted to his family and fishing. He was an avid fisherman and was out of his boat weekly with his closest lifelong friends.

Bill loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally and wanted nothing more than their happiness. He was the dad you could always count on to fix things, help you move, or just be there no matter what.

In 77 years, he managed to never run out of corny jokes that you couldn’t help but laugh about. He would jokingly introduce himself as the first Bill Clinton. His laugh was infectious.

Bill was a strong man with a gentle hand and heart. He cared for so many animals and never met one he didn’t love. He could demand the attention of an entire room just by a snap of his fingers...literally. Saying he will be missed is an understatement.

Bill was predeceased by his parents William Sr. and Ida Shelton. He is survived by his wife, Ann Shelton of DeLand; two children, Brett Shelton (Holly) and Megan Shelton (Jennifer); sister, Margaret Santilli (Ernie); five grandchildren, Brittany Woody (Zachary), JR Shelton, Jacob Davis, Brendan Davis, and Oliver Shelton; and many more relatives and friends.
