William Abram Clark, to everyone knew as “Buddy,” was born in the town of Day, Florida on November 25, 1935 to his parents William & Catherine Clark.  The family of five moved from Day to the Orlando area of Pine Castle when Buddy was in the first grade.  He completed his senior year of High School in 1953 at Boone High School.

Buddy joined the United States Army and began his military police career.  After getting out of the Military, he returned home to Orlando taking a special interest in a young women named Peggy.  He convinced her to marry him in December of 1959.   The both created a life together and started their family with the birth of their only daughter,, Nicole a few years later.

As Buddy embarked on a 30-year career in Law Enforcement for the Florida Highway Patrol, he was stationed in Stuart, Orlando, Pensacola, Lantana and lastly in Tallahassee; each assignment was due to a promotion up through the ranks.   Buddy obtained the rank of Colonel and retired from the Florida Highway Patrol in 1990.    Retirement didn’t fit Buddy very well and he went back to work with the State as a civilian member with FDLE and the Division of Drivers License as a DUI Hearing officer. He finally retired in 2007 in Crescent City, Florida on a lake just like he always wanted.

At the time of Buddy’s passing, he was surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy, daughter Nicole, son-in-law Rob, grandchildren Lauren & Sydney, a great grandchild Leiliana, Brother Lem Clark and Sister Liz Hitchcock.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church at 101 South Summit Street, Crescent City, Florida 32112.  The viewing will be held at 10:00 am and the Service at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6th, 2024.

Throughout life, Buddy was dedicated to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; and the Family and Friends he developed through the years.
