Carolyne (Virginia) Langston

June 3, 1934 — April 13, 2025

Virginia Carolyne Langston entered into the arms of the Lord on April 13, 2025. Carolyne was born June 3, 1934 to Clarence and Allene Wallace in Jamesville, North Carolina. She was the youngest of four children. She attended Jamesville Elementary and High School. She married Robert Langston on June 16, 1956. She graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in education. She began her teaching career in Virginia and spent the next 40 years teaching in Florida, Maryland, Virginia, and lastly, Texas. She was an English teacher as well as a drama teacher. She won many awards statewide for her drama competitions. The last few years while teaching in Texas, the highlight of the year was taking her drama students to see Broadway plays in New York City. She loved to travel, cook, and sing for Jesus.

She moved back to Deland, Florida in 2020 from Durango, Colorado to be closer to her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Mark Langston, who passed away in 2023.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Bob, her daughter Lu (Charlie) Neetz who provided for her care, her son Bruce (Jana) Langston, granddaughter Kara (Steven) Robinson of Layton, Utah, and Katee (Peter) Kimball of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, her great grandchildren, Keegan and Brooklyn Robinson of Layton, Utah, and Grace and Ashford Kimball of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Carolyne is survived by her sister Frances Rankin of Winston Salem, North Carolina, her brother in law Mike (Phyliss) Langston of Greenville, North Carolina, numerous nieces and nephews, and two granddogs, Freddie and Max.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
