Thomas Anthony Gwitt, Sr., 76, of Deland, Florida passed away on October 26, 2024. He was quick to smile, crack a joke, and just be generally silly. He was kind, caring, and compassionate. He was proud of his family and reveled in his roles as husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.
He loved the outdoors and being active. From hunting and fishing in his home state of Michigan, to tennis and pickleball in his adopted state of Florida. He also enjoyed hiking, especially in the Grand Canyon, which he did many times with his beloved wife. In more recent years his begrudging children also joined in and discovered their parents were right…hiking the Canyon was pretty dang cool!
Tom was a devoted husband to his wife Eileen for 56 years. She was his everything and made sure she knew it every single day. He was extremely proud of his children Leanne (John) Aschenbrenner and Thomas (Traci) Anthony Gwitt, Jr., and he adored his two grandchildren Olivia and Connor. He is survived by his siblings Nancy Vallier and Mary Ann Pake.
