Thomas William Autorino, 57, passed away in Milwaukee, WI, after a sudden illness. He was born and raised in Deltona, Florida, where he built a life surrounded by family, friends, and a love for good conversation.
Tom proudly served 23 years in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller and airfield manager. His service took him all over the world, and he developed a deep love for travel—his favorite destination being Turkey.
Tom never met a stranger. He had a way of striking up conversations with anyone, sharing his wealth of random facts, and making people feel at ease. He had a great sense of humor, a love for classic rock (especially Boston), and could always be found watching sports or the History Channel with a Miller Lite in hand. A lifelong Miami Dolphins fan, Tom never missed a game, no matter how stressful the season was.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michele, his father Mark, and 2 step daughters Lauren and Hannah (Jeremy), who he loved as his own. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Ophelia, Winnie, and Gus, his brothers Mark (Dawn) and their daughters Drew and Emily, and Chris (Jennifer) and their sons Wyatt and Zachary, along with extended family and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand, FL, on Wednesday, March 26th, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and the family is encouraging everyone to wear blue because that was his favorite color. Tom will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Thursday, March 27th, at 9:30 AM. All are welcome to attend.
Tom’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and curiosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
