Steven Patrick Maloy, 40, of Deland, Florida, passed away on January 7, 2025. Born on July 28, 1984, in Marathon, Florida, to Thomas and Judith Maloy, Steven lived a life marked by generosity, hard work, and a passion for helping others.
Steven graduated from DeLand High School in 2002, where he was a proud member of the bowling team. He later went on to establish his own business, Steve Maloy Delivery and Moving, where he made a meaningful impact in his community. Steven was particularly dedicated to supporting the homeless, often going above and beyond to lend a helping hand.
An avid bowler and billiards enthusiast, Steven found joy at the lanes or around a pool table at Dolly’s. His love for life was matched only by his love for his family and friends.
Steven is survived by his parents, Thomas and Judith Maloy; sister Mollie Owens (Larry) and their daughters, Sarah, Ashley, and Emily; his girlfriend, Kathy Roper; half-brother, Thomas Maloy; half-sister Lori Guariglia (Rick) and their son Rick; aunts Kathy Lusardi and Barbara Shipman; and cousin Mandi Brew (Nick).
He often shared his favorite quote, “Broken crayons still color,” a reflection of his optimistic spirit and belief in resilience.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in DeLand, Florida, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to local charities supporting the homeless in Steven’s memory.
