Stephen Kenneth Bradley

10/15/2023

Stephen Kenneth Bradley, 47, entered eternal life on Oct. 15, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at LifePoint Community Church, 1747 W. New York Ave. in DeLand.

Steve’s firm belief in God supported him through his struggle and gave him peace. He has now joined his dear mother, Nancy Bradley, who preceded him in death in 2012.

Steve is survived by his father, Ken Bradley; his sisters, Carole Jean Lait and Linda Wald; his brother, Mark Bradley and Mark's daughter, Steve's beloved niece, Libbi Bradley; and his cousin Amie Bradley.

Steve was blessed with the loving companionship of Lisa Monti, who loyally stood by him and comforted him through his illness.

Steve constantly lived in the light of the Holy Spirit, which is why many of his friends chose Steve as the godfather for their children. Actually, his godkids are too numerous to mention by name.

With the help of Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Steve was constantly surrounded with love from his family and friends until his passage.

Steve was born Aug. 12, 1976, in Stuart, where his mother and father were working at the time. Steve's family has had a presence in DeLand beginning in the early 1900s, and Steve moved to his ancestral home in 1984.

He graduated from DeLand High School in 1994 and graduated in 1999 from Florida State University, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

Steve loved DeLand and DeLand loved him. He was active in the MainStreet DeLand Association and other community activities.

Steve was an adventurous soul who loved to travel. He would try anything once, and maybe twice, once his wounds healed from the first try.

Steve was blessed with many, many wonderful friends, who rallied around him with love and support, before and after he was stricken with cancer. The Stevepalozza events, organized by his loyal friends and attended by many, were a constant blessing to him in his time of need.

In lieu of flowers, Steve's family requests consideration be given to making a donation to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, P.O. Box 98160, Washington, DC 20090-8160; email curesarcoma.org .
