Ronnie Thomas Wiggins, Sr. was born on July 21, 1941, in Goldsboro, North Carolina to parents James and Verdie Wiggins, and passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024. Ronnie was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, creative talents, and deep love for family and community.
Ronnie attended Gaston College, where he pursued his education and developed a passion for business and creativity. In his career, he owned and operated Truck Stop Marketing Services, Inc., where his attention to detail and innovative approach helped many local businesses thrive. Later, Ronnie partnered with his son to open Tropicool Window Tinting & Auto Accessories. His work in this field was not only a business but a reflection of his love for craftsmanship, design, and family.
On top of his many accomplishments, Ronnie also faithfully served his country as part of the United States Navy, where he was honorably discharged in 1963.
As a freelance artist, Ronnie was often found doodling in his spare time, expressing his creative ideas through art. His drawings were a reflection of his unique perspective on the world. He also had a deep appreciation for classic cars, and a love for college sports. Beyond his artistic and business endeavors, Ronnie was an avid fisherman, and an active member of the Bass Masters community, where he earned multiple awards for his fishing accomplishments.
Ronnie was skilled at fixing any and everything he came across in his life. He is affectionately remembered with the nickname "Knack" that was given to him by his wife, Sandra, because of his "knack for getting things done".
Ronnie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra Wiggins, parents James and Verdie Wiggins, siblings George C., Donald L., Alfred W. Wiggins, Evelyn Jenkins, Shirley Howell, Brenda McCombs, E. Diane Davis.
He is survived by his son, Ronnie Jr. and wife Shelby, and granddaughter Kayln,as well as daughter Rhonda Wiggins and grandson Alexander White, several nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Andrea Bell.
A visitation will be held at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand, FL on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM.
