Peter Tobin Woods, 72, passed away in his home early Sunday morning, May 29, surrounded by his family. Peter was born in Meriden, CT to the late John C. and Eleanor (Tobin) Woods. He grew up in Suffield CT, where he met his smoking hot wife, Audrey, whom he married in 1974. A graduate of Manhattan College (which is really in the Bronx), Peter worked a variety of jobs and served in the Army National Guard before moving to DeLand, Florida in 1978.

In Florida, Peter continued work as a real property appraiser, obtaining the SRPA designation and establishing his own appraisal practice in the 1980s. He was a dedicated member of the St. Peter Catholic Church community, where he served on the school board, volunteered as a minister to the sick, and actively supported the local soup kitchen. His main volunteer work at the church was the annual Oktoberfest, which he helped guide for over four decades. Peter was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6274. He was a Past Grand Knight and was named the Knight of the Year by the Florida State Council in 1982-1983. Peter was an active and generous supporter of many charities, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Peter was preceded in death by sisters Evalyn Drobiak and Nola Broughton. He is survived by the aforementioned smoking hot Audrey Woods, sons Matthew Tobin Woods, Michael John Woods (Melissa), grandchildren Ainsley Woods and Tobin Woods, brother John Woods (Betty) and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 4 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 359 W. New York Ave., DeLand. A rosary service will start at 9:30 am and the funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am.
