Patricia “Patty” Lawrence was called to heaven on November 20, 2021. She was born on September 12, 1946 in Dearborn, Michigan.

Patty and Jimmy married in 1976 and raised three children together: Jamie Lawrence (Young Hee), Ronette Lawrence (Dana) and LeAnn Strickland (Brad). Later she thoroughly enjoyed her role as Grandma to five grandchildren: Brittney, Jacob, Gavin, Betty and Raleigh. And, of course, she loved being a doggie grandma to Honey.

In addition to being a devoted and loving wife and an amazing mother, Patty dedicated her life to serving children. She was a teacher for 40 + years. She touched the lives of countless children and was the teacher every kid wanted to have. Even after she retired, she continued to teach preschool and designed educational materials that encouraged learning through creative play.

Patty was also very creative and enjoyed making string art and playing the piano. She loved to be silly and was proud of her eclectic style. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and for her recognizable laugh that could fill a room.

Patty was a faithful Christian and will be deeply missed, but family and friends can take comfort in knowing that she is now with God and has been reunited with her beloved husband, Jimmy.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at First United Methodist Church- 115 E Howry Ave, DeLand on Tuesday 11/30/21 at 11:00 a.m. A fellowship luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the service.
