Marjorie Edna Crist, 90, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, at Halifax Health Hospice in Orange City, Florida.
Born in Washington, D.C., on June 12, 1934, Marjorie was raised in the charming town of Emmitsburg, Maryland. She also spent some years living in Cumberland, Maryland, before relocating to Florida in 1975. For the past 42 years, she called Deland home.
During her time in Deland, Marjorie found joy in many pursuits. She was an avid golfer and could often be found at the Deland Golf and Country Club. Her commitment to community and heritage was evident through her active participation in the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Marjorie also enjoyed tending to her garden and was a dedicated member of a local Garden Club. A passionate supporter of the Stetson University basketball team, she never missed an opportunity to cheer for her favorite players.
Marjorie was predeceased by her beloved mother, Alice Hetzel Taylor, and her stepfather, Norman Taylor. She leaves behind her brother, Carl Crist, and his wife, Sue Crist, her nephew, David Crist, and his wife, Starr Crist, as well as her great-nephew, Cole Crist, all of whom will deeply miss her kind heart and loving spirit.
Marjorie will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cumberland, Maryland, where she will join her family in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Marjorie's memory to Halifax Health Hospice or a charity of your choice.
