Margery Arnheim

Margery DeLazzero Arnheim, beloved mother, grandmother, and artist, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, at Advent Health Hospice Care Facility in Altamonte Springs, FL, at the age of 85.

Born on December 2, 1938, in New York, Margery was raised in a large, loving Italian family Scarsdale, NY. She attended Scarsdale High School, where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, Torbjorn A. Arnheim. Margery raised her family in Scarsdale where she was a member of The Scarsdale Woman's Club and a member of Fox Meadows Tennis Club. After Scarsdale she embarked on new adventures that took her to Key West, FL and Hendersonville, NC before ultimately retiring in Sarasota, FL. Throughout her travels, her heart always belonged to the family summer home in Point O'Woods, Fire Island, NY, a place where she cherished time with family and friends.

At the age of 50, after successfully raising her children, Margery fulfilled a lifelong dream by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City. Her love of art shown through in her beautiful oil paintings, wood carvings, calligraphy, and other creative endeavors. Margery was also an avid gardener who enjoyed various racket sports and a love of chocolate which she always attributed to her beautiful brown eyes. She was deeply involved in her children's activities, supporting their sports and hobbies with enthusiasm and dedication. Margery was also a long time Episcopalian, whose love of the Lord was evident in her deep faith and her favorite Bible verses that often adorned the back of her art.

Margery was predeceased by her parents, Robert Walter DeLazzero and Elizabeth Sime DeLazzero, and her sister, Steffany Belcher. She is survived by her brother, Vincent Paul DeLazzero, and her three children: son Torbjorn Anders Gustav Arnheim Jr. (Marion), daughter Deborah Arnheim Kern (Jeffery, predeceased) and son Timothy Robert Arnheim (Mary Lynn). Margery was also the proud grandmother of eight: Torbjorn Anders Gustav Arnheim III (Courtney), Katherine Arnheim Hodges (William), Robert Wilcox Arnheim, Margery Elizabeth Kern, David William Kern, Nicholas Owen Arnheim (Darrah), Gregory Willis Arnheim, and Sarah Elizabeth Arnheim. Her legacy also extended to nine great-grandchildren: William Henry Hodges Jr., Anna Winscott Hodges, Lily Burleson Hodges, Mary Watterson Arnheim, Frances Winscott Arnheim, Mason William Stevens, Bryson Aaron Stevens, Owen Ryan Arnheim, and Avery Jack Arnheim.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Orlando, FL. A graveside service will follow at Queen of Angels Cemetery in Winter Park, FL, at 12:15 PM.
