Kitty Williams of DeLand, Florida passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2021. Born on October 22nd, 1917, in Ashland, Kentucky, she was 103 years old. She was the daughter of Leslie and Pearl Conley and was married to the late Bill Williams for 61 years.


Kitty was a true community leader as she was a Girl Scout leader and life member of DeLand Hospital. She was also a lifetime member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Epsilon Gamma Chapter with 53 years of service. She was Sister of the Year in 2016. Kitty retired after 28 years’ service at JC


Penney’s. Her church, First United Methodist Church, played a significant part in her and Bill’s life. They touched many peoples’ lives with their time and generosity supporting the outreach to the community with their church family. She was a member since 1957 and celebrated her 100th birthday there with family and friends.


Affectionately known to her family as Auntie, she is survived by her nieces Ramona Reynolds Hurd of Virginia Beach, VA, Debbie Conley Spaleny, Flint, MI, Charlotte Conley Kruger (Horst) Central Lake, MI, nephew, Les Conley, MI, and Will Crane, Virginia Beach, VA. Great nieces, Martha Hurd Wickre, (Barry) of Manteo, NC, Susan Hurd Mitchell, (Chris) Virginia Beach, VA, Denise Crane Souders, (Bob), Huntersville, NC. Great nephews, William Michael Crane, (Robin) of Virginia Beach, VA, David Bryan Crane, (Lynn) Union, KY, Charles Cole Hurd,(Cindy) Virginia Beach, VA, Eric Spaleny, (Kaleena) Flint MI, Shawn Spaleny, Flint, MI. In addition to her parents, Kitty is predeceased by her husband, Bill Williams, her sisters, Hazel Conley Reynolds, Frieda Conley Feick, and her brothers, Jack Conley and Roy Conley. She is also predeceased by her niece, Dolores Reynolds Crane, and nephew Charles E. Hurd, great-nephew, Dietrich Kruger, and sister-in-law Pat Conley.


Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, DeLand, with the memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. Burial at DeLand Memorial Gardens will follow immediately after the service. Lankford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church or St. Jude’s Hospital.
