Lesa Marie Greene, age 70, of Deland, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2024. She was born on February 22, 1954, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Vess "Babe" and Darlene Steinburg.

Lesa spent her childhood in Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1970. During her high school years, she was a talented singer and performed at a fancy dinner club, a memory she cherished throughout her life. She met and fell in love with George Greene, and they married on August 19, 1972. Together, they were blessed with a daughter, Alicia.

Lesa was a huge animal lover, and her home was always filled with pets that she adored. Above all, Lesa cherished her role as a grandmother, lovingly spoiling and caring for her two grandsons, Trenton and Troy. Known for her big heart, Lesa was always concerned about the well-being of others.

Lesa dedicated 30 years to the Rapid City school system, retiring as a cafeteria manager. She took great joy in ensuring that every child was well-fed and enjoyed their lunchtime experience.

Lesa is survived by her husband, George Greene; her daughter, Alicia (Jeff) Counsellor; and her beloved grandsons, Trenton and Troy (fiancée Lexie). She was preceded in death by her parents, Babe and Darlene Steinburg, and her brother, Rodney Steinburg.

Lesa will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Kirk Funeral Home. A celebration of life will take place at 4:00 PM at the Rapid City Elks Lodge.
