Laura Lee Lupo (VanDevender) was a loving and passionate wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She left this world after a 6 year battle with cancer on April 28th, 2021, at age 58. Her final days were spent surrounded by family. Those touched by her know that the quality of her existence far exceeds the quantity of time which she spent on this earth.
She was born to Max and Gayle VanDevender on February 21st, 1963, in Warren, Ohio. She was the eldest of three daughters. The family moved to Longwood, Florida in 1977. Upon moving to Florida, Laura attended Lake Brantley High School and later followed in her dad’s footsteps, becoming an interior designer.
Laura met her soulmate, Ben, in 1995 while playing in a co-ed softball league. She had three children, two bonus children, and seven grandchildren.
Laura loved spending time at the beach, playing in her garden, and entertaining family and friends in her home.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on May 7th, 2021, at Seminole Community Church, 5070 Orange Blvd, Sanford, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, Laura asked for donations to Shriners Hospital for Children. Services will be live-streamed through Seminole Community Church’s website.
