Mrs. Lanny Applegate, age 65, of DeLand, Florida passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at Advent Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

She was born April 11, 1956 in Mason County, Kentucky to the late Fred and Carol Doyle.

Lanny retired after 21 years working for Volusia County Revenue Service. She was a member of the First Christian Church of DeLand and enjoyed cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was looking forward to the birth of her first grandchild in December of this year.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Kimberly Doyle Blevins (Jerry), Angela Doyle, and Vicki Doyle.

Lanny is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dennis Applegate. One daughter, Sarah Angell (Michael). One brother, Timothy Doyle (Carolyn). Two sisters, Susie Gibson (Roy) and Sandy Doyle. Three brothers-in-law, Randall Applegate (Rachel), Richard Applegate (Alisa), and Jerome Applegate (Annette), one sister-in-law, Bonnie Condorodis (John), along with a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

Family and friends are invited to Open Door Christian Church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021 for visitation, with memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. Open Door Christian Church is located at 1700 S. Clara Avenue, DeLand, Florida. Pastor Mark Ingram will be officiating.
