Kay Elaine Emmons, Age 76, of Deland, FL, left this world for the forgiving and loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 30th, 2022. She had joy in knowing her sins were forgiven, paid for by Jesus on the cross; songs of comfort to her are “One Day At A Time”, “He’ll Always Say I Forgive”, and “When I Get Where I’m Going” by Brad Paisley. Born in Richmond, IN, August 8th, 1945. Faith: Member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and 12-Step anonymous group. Education: Richmond High School Graduate, class of 1963, and College level art classes. Hobbies and Interests: Arts & Crafts, Antique Furniture Restoration, Fairs & Festivals, and Travel. She supported CRU(Christian Ministry) and Wounded Warrior Program. Occupation: Secretary to Gatorade VP, Stokely-Van Camp, Indianapolis, IN from 1963 to 1973. Survived by: Walter Emmons & Wife Carmen Emmons, Grandchildren Ashley and Austin Echlov, David Emmons, Joseph Emmons, and Julia Emmons of Deland, FL; Nephew Justin Hansing, Gr. Nephew and Gr. Niece Tylor & Lexus Hansing of St. Augustine, FL; Gr. Nephew Austin Wilson of Indianapolis, IN, and Cousins in IN, OH, ME. Preceded in death by her Husband of 32 years, James Emmons; Sister Carla Horton-Smith; Parents Norma Jean & Chester Dewaine Taylor; Maternal Grandparents Mae (Morris) Meranda & Walter Lephart (PoPo); Paternal Grandparents Dorotha & George W. Taylor. Memorial service at Lankford Funeral Home( 386-734-2247 ) on Saturday, February 12th, at Noon, followed by burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to Halifax Health - Hospice, West Volusia Care Center, 1625 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Orange City, FL 32763
