The world lost a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend on Saturday, November 13th, 2021, when Kathleen G. Mastillone, nee Argendorf passed peacefully while surrounded by her children. Kathy courageously battled cancer for more than a decade but never lost her positive attitude, contagious smile, and her love of giving and receiving hugs.

Kathy was born in Queens, New York on August 6, 1945. She graduated from Oneida College in 1967 and taught elementary school to hundreds of children whom she loved as her own. She moved from NY to Florida in 1985 and will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends and her willingness to always help others. She was a devoted Catholic and devoted many years of service to the church and community of Deland.

Kathy was preceded in death by the love of her life Vinny whom she married in 1980. She is survived by her only son Thomas G. Mastillone and his wife Kristynn, her daughter Lisa Mastillone Kirwan and her husband John. She is also survived by her grandchildren Keri DeCraine and James Kirwan and great-grandchildren Anthony Breslin and Sienna Taylor and her chosen sisters Donna Kuhn, Lois Becker, and Judy Harrington.

She will also be greatly missed by her precious poodle Angel and her cat Dirty Face. The family would also like to include the very special friends she considered family: Karen, Jo, Fran, Kimberly, Todd and Tyler, Lauren, and friends in Raintree Villiage. The family would also like to thank the physicians who so lovingly cared for her: Robert Stuart, MD of Charleston, SC, and Boon Chew, MD of Daytona Beach, Florida.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 18 from 2-4 pm at Lankford Funeral home in Deland. A mass will be held on Friday, November 19 at 10 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church Deland.

Donations may be made in her honor to Habitat for Humanity or the ASPCA.

Burial will be private.

However, all are welcome to join the service in person or by watching the funeral service LIVE via zoom . If you do not have access to a computer, you can all in to listen to the service. Just follow the below instructions.
