Judith Bowman Cook

Judith Bowman Cook, born on November 19, 1935, in Mann, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, at the age of 88. She was welcomed into this world alongside her twin sister, Ardith, and shared her childhood with her siblings: her older sister, Pat, who survives her, and her brothers, Donald and Butch, who preceded her in passing, leaving behind treasured memories.

A proud graduate of DBCC, Judith combined education with a joyful love for life. She delighted in finding treasures at garage sales and spent countless happy hours by her pool, basking in the sun and savoring life’s small pleasures.

For 62 years, Judith was married to her soulmate, John Cook, with whom she shared a bond that spanned decades. Together, they raised two children, Jan and Jim, both of whom also preceded her in passing. In her later years, Judith’s heart continued to find purpose and love in the companionship of her grandson Shane Nash and his son John Wiley Nash, who became her anchors and her joy, bringing her warmth and care that sustained her spirit.

Judith held tightly to her faith and found strength in the Serenity Prayer: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” These words became her comfort and guide, helping her face life’s trials with grace and resilience.

Judith’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her deeply.
