Josefina Nieves, 92, died the 21st of March 2023 at her home in Orange City, FL.

Her funeral service will be held this Saturday, March 25th, 2023, at Lankford Funeral Home & Crematory in Deland, FL. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM with the service starting at 2:00 PM.

Josefina was born on the 28th of August 1930 in Salinas, Puerto Rico to Florencio Ortiz and Carmen Onelia Torres. After graduating high school, she moved to New York City where she later met and married Rolando Nieves on May 23rd, 1953.

They raised three children and the family returned to Puerto Rico in 1966.

In 1980 the family moved to Miami, FL and in 1997 retired in Orange City, FL Josefina enjoyed attending the Orange City Counsel of Aging Senior Center and was a member of the St Ann’s Catholic Church Rosary Makers.

Her love for family was unmeasurable. She had a passion for cooking and love for flowers. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a loving daughter, sister, aunt and cousin.

She is survived by her three children Rolando, Rafael and Evelyn. Her son in law Scott and her grandchildren RJ, Brian, Nicole and Donna. She was predeceased by her husband Rolando.
