John Wallace Morgan, aged 75, of Deltona, Florida, passed away on March 14, 2024, at Advent Health DeLand.

Born on July 12, 1948, in Hazard, Kentucky, John led a remarkable life filled with service and dedication. He served in the Military Army 5th Special Forces, earning two Purple Hearts 💜 for his bravery and commitment.

John continued his spirit of service in civilian life, serving as a Volusia County Deputy, Orange City Police Officer, and Orange City Dare Instructor. He was also instrumental in organizing the first Orange City Police Explorers program, guiding and inspiring numerous young individuals.

Beyond his professional achievements, John was a devoted family man. He was married to his beloved wife Cindy for 52 1/2 years and was a loving father to John, Christopher, and Hanna. He also cherished his daughter Kelly, who preceded him in death. John's legacy extended to his grandchildren Christopher, Tyler, Briana, Madisyn, as well as his great-grandchildren Bradly, Davina, and Tessa.

John was passionate about sports and spent time coaching baseball and football. He also enjoyed playing games on his cellphone, but his greatest joy was feeding the squirrels at Gemini Springs.

He is also survived by sisters Judy and Cindi, and brother William. He is predeceased by his father Owen, mother Flora, brothers Richard and James, and sister Barbara.

John will be deeply missed by all who know him, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:

Date: Wednesday, March 20, 2024

Time: Visitation at 10:00 AM and Service at 11:00 AM

Location: Service will be at Lankford Funeral Home (DeLand, Florida) with the burial taking place at Hollywood Cemetery (Orange City, Florida)
