John Kenneth Lane Jr. passed away at Advent Health DeLand ICU with family by his side on August 18, 2021 at the age of 70.
John was the second child of Ken and Dorothy Lane and survived by Nancy Joann Lane, his loving wife of 33 years. They were married in DeLand, Florida on June 4, 1988.
Growing up in DeLand, John is survived by his brothers and their spouses: Burt and Sally Allinder, Robert and Ann, George and Lisa, David and Brenda; his sisters Terri and Marie, and his many nieces and nephews. Also mourning John are his stepdaughter Lisa Browning and son-in-law Scott Browning, stepson James Rybinski and daughter-in-law Desiree Rybinski, and his grandchildren Coral Browning, Jacob Browning, Steven Rybinski, and Kadyn Rybinski , who loved and adored their Papa.
John Kenneth Lane was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on August 24, 1950. He played baseball for and graduated from DeLand High School. Following graduation, John served in the National Guard Reserve and worked at Bob's Auto Parts. From there he worked a long career and retired as a lineman from Duke Energy, where he was known as Freddie.
John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and tending to his horses Dodger and Baby.
The Celebration of Life service for John will be held at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand on Sunday, September 5th at 11:00AM
