James Arthur Glase

James Arthur Glase (also known as Jamie to his friends or Dad to his children or Sweetie, Babe, Honey…and other assorted names to his wife) was called home by his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Hopefully, he gets his lifelong dream of being able to fly in Heaven between watching over his wife and children.

Jamie was born to William Arthur Glase and Lois Jean (Melton) on June 9, 1975, in Olean, New York. He was the fourth of five children and is survived by his mother, Lois Jean Rich (Ron), and his four siblings: William Edward Glase (Marcy), Sheryl Lynn Glase, Lorna Jean Glase, Benjamin Henry Glase (Erin). Preceded in death by his father. Previously married to Lori (Bixby) Bennett from 1999, divorced in 2009.

Jamie had many loves, but his biggest love was his wife and family. Jamie and Cydamarie (Klc) were sealed in the Orlando, Florida LDS temple on October 10, 2019. They loved each other completely and deeply. In getting married, they brought two half families together to make one big loving whole. Jamie and Cydamarie always referred to their children as “our kids”. Jamie is survived by his wife Cydamarie (Klc) and his 5 children: Ian (Jenna) Pedersen, Lydia (Dallin) Martin, Meagan (Chandler) Bachan, Adrienne Glase, and Logan Pedersen. His greatest joys were to be found in deep conversation or hearty laughter with his family over food, movies, books, and “Dad” jokes. More than anything Jamie wants his family to know that he loves them beyond measure and is still watching out for them.

Jamie once joked when Cydamarie was on her way to a book club breakfast, that he should get a hobby. Cydamarie just laughed because Jamie had sooooooo many hobbies. Jamie owned a book on how to do or what to study on just about everything. Jamie loved to work with his hands, as long as it didn’t hurt his back. Among other activities, he is remembered for making homemade soap, homemade fudge, and homemade cheese, cooking new and exciting meals, creating sea salt from a bucket of ocean water, building things including shelving and a chicken coop, and learning to live off the land.

Jamie’s biggest love outside of his family, always remained genealogy and temple work. Jamie was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was baptized on May 11, 2013. He was a faithful member of the church and served in stake and ward callings. Jamie and Cydamarie served in the temple as patrons and as temple workers. It brought them both great joy to serve together.
