Henry Richard Boekhoff Jr., 79, passed away Thursday, June 16th, 2022, in his Deland home. He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Coker Boekhoff, his daughters Mary Denise Boekhoff and Joann Patricia Boekhoff Osborne (Chad), his son Andrew Richard Boekhoff (Jane), and his granddaughter Anna Catherine Osborne. Henry is preceded in death by his father Henry Richard Boekhoff Sr., his mother Joan Herzog Boekhoff, and his sister Joyce Ann Boekhoff.

Henry was born in New York on March 27th, 1943, and moved to Callahan, Florida in 1949. He attended Callahan High school and graduated in 1960. Henry served overseas in the United States Army from 1960 through 1964. He attended the University of Maryland to obtain his Associates Degree while serving. Henry initially graduated from the University of Florida in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and later graduated in 1970 and 1978 to obtain his master's and Doctorate in Education. He worked in various school systems in the state of Florida as Chief Financial Officer, retiring in 2006. He married his wife of 54 years in 1968 and raised three children. Henry enjoyed walking, traveling, reading, seafood, and butter pecan ice cream. He was known through the University of Florida Alumni association and for his dedication to his work and family.

Henry loved the University of Florida and the Florida Gators, and the family encourages those who can donate to the University of Florida to do so on behalf of Henry.
