Gary Alan Mikitta, 60, of Deland passed away Thursday, July 1st, 2021 after a short illness.

Gary was born in Deland to Donald and Marilyn Mikitta and never left the area Over the years Gary worked at several jobs in and around Deland but was happiest at his most recent job as a security officer at Alliance Nursing Home where he was recognized for Outstanding Service.

In addition to his parents, Gary is predeceased by his brother Bill. Gary is survived by sisters Marianne Branding (Lou), Debbie Hullum (Don), and brothers Donald Mikitta (Nancy) and Jimmy Mikitta (Pam), cousin Susan Franks (Jeff), several nieces and nephews, and two very close friends, Becca Warchol and Tony Gomez.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 11, at 2 p.m. in The Volusia Room at Hampton Inn located at 20 Summit Oak Place, Deland, Florida 32720.
