Elvira Cantrell, 86, passed on the 23rd of January 2021 at her home in DeLand, Florida. A funeral service Mass will be held on the 13th of February 2021 at Saint Peters Catholic Church in DeLand, Florida at 10 A.M.

Mrs. Cantrell was born on July 2nd, 1934 in El Salvador, C.A. At a young age she made her way to the United States. She then married Neill Edward McLean on April 24th, 1966. Together she had 1 son Carlos in 1967. Mrs. Cantrell became a United States Citizen on March 7th, 1973.


Mrs. Cantrell is preceded by her late husband, Felton Cantrell, who passed in 2012.

Mrs. Cantrell was affectionately known as the “peanut lady” at the DeLand Flea Market. In her spare time, she loved to garden and took care of many beautiful flowers and her beloved pets. Elvira loved so many and was so loved by many.

Her son paid this tribute, “Mom had a green thumb and could make anything grow anywhere. I can imagine her in Heaven growing the most amazing magnificent flowers in a beautiful variety of colors. She loved me so very much as I did her. A big part of me may be gone but the best memories of Mama will live in my heart forever. She will never be forgotten and she will always be loved! She will be sorely missed by many.”

She is survived by her son Carlos his wife Heather, granddaughters Alyssa, Myla, Layla, Mikaela, & her great-grandson Jason. She is also survived by her Sister Argelia Barrera and her nephews Juan, Salvador, Carlos and Alfredo.


Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.💔
