Edward “Eddie” J. Jordan, lovingly known as “Catfish,” “King Edward,” or “Boo,” passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, in Deland, Florida, surrounded by family and friends.
Eddie was born on January 27, 1953, in Tuckahoe, NY. Throughout his life, he brought laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories to everyone who knew him.
He enjoyed attending classic rock concerts and traveling in his younger years. A devoted fan of comic books, sci-fi, fantasy, and Star Wars, Eddie shared his love for World of Warcraft with his nephews, Dan and Tim. Eddie was also a huge history buff.
Whether he was sitting on the wall at Tower 5 in Ft. Lauderdale with his beloved husband of 23 years, Ken Daniel, sipping coffee and watching lifeguards pass by, or going out to dinner with his cherished Deland family—OS and Sue Brannon, Misty Parish, Charity Friedrich, Rob Morris, and Frank Roberts. He loved visiting The Villages to see Mama D, his “partner” sister-in-law Sharon Owens, and his “BIL” brother-in-law Joe Owens. He loved Ken making him coffee with cream, aka “hof hof,” and cozy TV nights together.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Gina and John Jordan, and his brothers, Tim, Jimmy, and Bobby Jordan. He is survived by his devoted husband, Ken, and a wide circle of family and friends who adored him.
Eddie’s life was a testament to love, tolerance, and humor. His relationship with Ken was beautifully encapsulated by their wedding song, “More Than Words” by Extreme. All who knew Eddie and Ken were marveled by Eddie’s tolerance for Ken’s outlandish behavior and Ken’s loving care during Eddie’s health challenges.
The family would like to thank Mitch, the OS’s and the Deland fire department for taking care of Eddie and literally picking him up when Ken was unable to, as well as Doctors Cavins and Paik for their dedicated care.
Eddie will be interred at the Daniel family plot at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Naruna, Virginia, south of Lynchburg, this spring. Ken will host a bonfire and tailgate on Saturday, February 8, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at their home. All are welcome, but please bring a chair.
