Edward James Crosby, 77, passed away on April 1, 2024, with his family by his side.

Ed was born on June 21, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, to John and Thelma Crosby.

Ed graduated from South Broward High School in Hollywood, FL in 1964. He started his career as an electrician in his 20s and became a union member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He took a break from electrical work in the 1980's and owned Davie OK Tires for 7 years. Ed returned to IBEW, and retired from Tirone Electric in Hollywood, FL at 62 years of age.

Ed married Cheryl Rose Soults on November 9, 1973 in Hollywood, FL at Nativity Parish. The couple had 2 children, Erika Meads, of Wellfleet, MA, and Justine Crosby, of North Truro, MA

Ed was best known for his love of cars, beginning with racing go-carts in the 1970s & 80s, and moved on to racing stock cars at Hialeah Speedway and beyond. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Harper and Jaxen. Ed had a zest for life, friendly to everyone he came in contact with. His sense of humor and sociable nature meant no one was a stranger to Ed. He is extremely loved and adored by so many.

Ed is survived by his wife Cheryl Crosby, daughter Erika Meads and her husband Jamie Meads, daughter Justine Crosby and her wife Jess Mateik, his grandchildren Jaxen & Harper Meads, and his siblings John Crosby, Carol Burke, Lorraine Crosby, Linda Madej, and Corinne LaBelle.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lankford Funeral Home (220 E. New York Ave, DeLand, FL 32724) on Wednesday July, 31st 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
