EDITH A. RAMIREZ

January 30th 2021

Edith A. Ramirez, affectionately known as Mima, went on to join the Lord and her loving husband, Ferdinand in the early morning of January 30th 2021. She was married 66 years to her one and only love, Ferdy, her childhood sweetheart, until he departed in 2015. She grieved his pass immensely.

Edith was the ultimate dedicated military wife, endorsing her husband’s 50 year military career yet subjected to elevated levels of stress and anxiety due to the multiple spouse deployments and frequent residential moves. Some of her fondest memories were their tours in France and Germany.

Edith loved to knit and sew and became quite an accomplished home seamstress. She was also involved with scouting, volunteering as a Cub Scout Leader. A devote Christian, she was very committed to her Catholic Church, Nuestra Senora del Rosario in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. There she helped with all the parish’s needs and also taught catechism. Upon moving to DeLand in 1991 she became a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Being of humble beginnings, Edith was extremely proud of her family and all of their accomplishments.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Edith leaves behind Dr. Manuel F. Ramirez and wife Diana (Georgia), Lyvia Y. Moll and husband Robert (DeLand), Jose F. Ramirez and wife Veronique (Winter Springs); eight grandchildren: Colonel Manny Ramirez (Helen-Burke, Virginia), Lieutenant Colonel Juan Ramirez (Betsy-South Carolina), Lieutenant Colonel Adriana Scott (Mack- Springfield, Virginia), electrical engineer Christopher Moll (Erin- Stokesdale, North Carolina), attorney Vanessa Moll (Harley- DeLand), Captain Anthony Ramirez (Kylee-Pinehurst, North Carolina), 1st Lieutenant Amanda Fucella (David- Germany), Nicholas Ramirez (Georgia); twelve great grandchildren: Gabriel, Aurora, Liliana. Evan, Emma, Mariana, Maliya, Baby Mack, Anthony, Holden, Allyson and her “princesa” Victoria. Also left behind is her precious dog Putin (soon o be known as Max).

Edith left us her legacy of deep Christian spirituality, devotion, forgiveness, respect, unconditional love, kindness, the value of a good education, common sense, honesty, perseverance and hard work.

Special thanks to Hospice- VITAS- for providing for her comfort and care during her final days.

We know we will never have to say goodbye to Edith’s soul but for now we will have to say goodbye to her body. She is now with God and with Ferdy, her parents, brothers and sister and other departed family members, enjoying Eternity.

WE LOVE YOU MIMA AND WILL CONTINUE TO HONOR YOU.

YOU WILL BE MISSED GREATLY.

R.I.P.
