PIERSON — Clyde O. Richardson passed away Oct. 27th, 2022. Join the family for a celebration of his life at the Lake Beresford Yacht Club at a later date.

Born in Pierson, he was a lifetime resident.

Clyde worked in the fern business all his life, establishing Clyde O. Richardson Ferneries in the 1950s. He loved to cultivate his ferns and grew the highest quality cut foliage, which he shipped nationwide.

Clyde loved boating and owned many boats over the years, cruising on the river. He was a longtime member of the Beresford Yacht Club, where he and his wife, Nancy, would gather with friends for many years.

Clyde and Nancy also enjoyed traveling, taking Caribbean and Mississippi River cruises, visiting Europe, and spending time at his cabin on the Homosassa River.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 29 years, Nancy; daughter Brenda Heartz of DeLand; son Clyde Daniel Richardson (Pamela) of Pierson; grandchildren Ellis Clifton (Vickie), Amanda (Matthew) and Sonya Richardson; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Nelson of Alabama; a brother, Carl Richardson of Pierson; and his companion dog, Sarge.

Clyde was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis, Kenneth and Ralph Richardson, Kirby Jordan, and sister Marguerite Lucas. Memorial donations are to be made to the Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32124. Celebration of Life gathering will be held on November 19th, 2022 at the

Lake Beresford Yacht Club from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m.
