03/21/2024

Charlotte Anne Grzenda of Orange City, FL., lived 60 long loved years. Charlotte was born September 1, 1963 in Trenton, NJ to her loving parents Genevieve Anne Liuzzo and John L.

Grzenda. She passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.

From the day she was born Charlotte had a heart of gold. She was loved by everybody who met her. Charlotte was full of life.  You would always find Charlotte laughing and smiling with a child like playfulness. She was vibrant and radiated light who accepted everyone with an open heart and open arms.

Her mother Genevieve was her rock who she leaned on and found comfort and love in daily. Her Father John was always there to listen and be a strong support system for her.

Charlotte poured her heart and soul into raising her beloved daughter, Hannah. Together, they shared a bond that transcended words. A profound bond forged through love, laughter, and unwavering support. Hannah was the light of Charlotte’s life, and her greatest source of joy and pride.

Her Sister, Denise Bordenga and Brother, Giuseppe (Joey) Liuzzo meant the world to her. The three stood together through thick and thin. They celebrated each other’s victories and offered comfort in times of need. They created a lifelong friendship that will continue forever.

Charlotte had immense passion for her entire family and found the most joy when spending time with those she loved. She cherished the holidays and family gatherings, and never missed a chance to see everyone together. When it came to her nephews Giovanni, Salvatore, and Anthony, along with her niece Victoria, she would have told you with excitement and sincerity how proud of each and every one of them she was.

Charlotte was known for her love of taking trips and exploring new cities and towns. She loved Sci-fi and Horror films, music, and singing. Despite the playful teasing from her family about her cooking and baking skills, she approached the kitchen with a brave spirit, determined to create delicious dishes with love and laughter. Charlotte also enjoyed playing video games on her Nintendo Switch with Hannah, or with her great nephews. Charlotte's favorite color was purple, which stemmed from a childhood memory she shared with her sister, Denise.

Charlotte graduated from Steinert High School, Class of 1981 in Trenton, NJ. She also earned her Cosmetology license from the Mercer County Vocational School.

Charlotte dedicated more than 35 years to a career that served the community through her work with the Volusia County School Board. Her work family was always there to love and support her throughout her tenure. Charlotte's compassionate spirit led her to also serve in her church and remain actively involved at First Assembly Deland. Her faith in God and her love for her savior Jesus Christ was the driving force of her life.

Charlotte is survived by her loving daughter Hannah Matthews, parents Genevieve Anne Liuzzo of Deltona, FL; and Father John Grzenda of NJ; Sister, Denise Bordenga of Deltona FL and her husband Giovanni (John); Brother, Giuseppe (Joey) Liuzzo of Deltona, FL; Nephews, Giovanni Bordenga (wife Kelly) of Longwood, FL.; Salvatore Bordenga (wife Maria) of Debary, FL.; Anthony Bordenga (wife Tasha) of Lake Mary, FL.
