Captain Clark R. Keller

Captain Clark R. Keller was born December 10th, 1935 in Des Moines, IA, and passed away at his home in Port Orange, FL on February 27, 2021, at the age of 85. Clark was a 1958 graduate of Drake University and a fighter pilot in the Iowa Air National Guard where he flew F-84 Thunderjets. After completing Air Force flight training, he returned to Drake to complete his degree and was then employed by United Airlines as a DC-6/7 Second Officer. In 1962 after a brief furlough from United Airlines, he was employed by Eastern Airlines as a Co-Pilot on the Constellation and the DC-7. Progressing to the position of Captain in 1970 he later flew the B-757 and was named an Instructor/Check airman on that aircraft. In 1991 when Eastern shut down he accepted a position with Rich International Airlines and flew as an L-1011 Captain.
Post-retirement from commercial flying he continued sharing his love and knowledge for flying by becoming an instructor/check airman of corporate pilots on various business jets with Simuflite Training International/CAE in Dallas, Texas until his retirement.
Clark is survived by his wife Carole, a former Eastern Airlines flight attendant, his daughter Kristen Keller and three grandchildren; Megan, Madison, and Matthew. Arrangements consist of private family service in his hometown of Des Moines, IA. No specifics are available.
