Boyd Otto Mesch

1/14/2022

Boyd Otto Mesch of Deltona, Florida passed away on January 14, 2022, with his children at his bedside.

Boyd was born January 2, 1927, in Springville, NY to the late Otto and Edna (Button) Mesch.

Boyd was a dairy farmer and loved farming for 40 plus years. Boyd and Vivian, his wife for 53 years, bought their farm in Perrysburg in 1953 where they raised their four children. They both retired to Deltona, Florida in 1992. Boyd was the example of “You can take the man off the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the man!” Even after retiring Boyd and Vivian would return to the farm for the summer months to help on the farm.

Boyd enjoyed socializing with his neighbors on his morning walks, gardening in his back yard and playing croquet with family and friends in Florida.

Boyd is survived by his children Sally (Rick) Patchin, Carol Gugino and Tim Mesch; grandchildren Jennifer, Kimberly, Anthony, Bethany, Jonathan and Devin; and great grandchildren Scarlett, Weston and Caleb. Besides his parents, Boyd was predeceased by his wife Vivian, son Charles, grandson Brandon, great granddaughter Virginia and two siblings.

Interment will be in Liberty Park Cemetery, Cattaraugus, NY on August 6th at 11:00am.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on August 6th at 1pm. It will be held at the homestead located at 10100 County Road, Perrysburg, NY.

Donations in Boyd’s name may be made to Perrysburg Fire Department, 12006 Main St, Perrysburg, NY 14129 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
